…the best cup of coffee on Staten Island with the greatest staff. Each beverage is hand crafted to perfection, just the way you ordered it. And if for some reason it’s not, we make it over again with a smile.
Vinny “Big VT”
A recent graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education, Vinny takes pride in his ability to provide and train the rest of the staff on excellent customer service. A charismatic barista, he is also the longest tenured employee at Beans and Leaves. His knowledge and love of coffee and tea and his creative way of mixing seemingly unlikely combinations make him a favorite of many customers that visit. Vinny loves his family, the Fall and Winter seasons and most especially the New York Giants.
As a recent graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Kristin is now a student at the College of Staten Island majoring in Early Childhood Education. She is truly sweet and a bit quiet, until you get to know her. She loves big scarves, exploring the city, reading anything and puppies.
As you can see by his nickname, Nicky is a chocoholic, which means he makes the BEST cocoa drinks around. He is always smiling and greeting people with a sweet “Hello” or “Good Morning”. Aside from making fabulous drinks at B & L, he is also serving up Staten Island’s best pizza at Denino’s (yum). Nicky aspires to own his own coffee shop one day and is currently studying at the Arrojo school for hair design in Manhattan.
As a veteran employee of the old coffee shop (Coffee and Tea Market), Louise is an authority on all things customer service and coffee. Everyone LOVES Louise. Her “kill’em with kindness” attitude, wild headgear and famous laugh are all reasons why if she ever decided to retire, we simply could never let her go.
If you haven’t met Megan, you’re missing out. She is one of the nicest, kindest and most genuine people around. Megan truly has a passion for this business and started working at the old coffee shop (Coffee and Tea Market) when she was in high school. A few years ago, the opportunity came about to own this shop, and she took a chance. Changing the name, the look and offering more over the top drinks and a greater selection of food, was in the plans and it proved successful.
Megan is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Display and Exhibit Design (hence why the shop is so cozy and nice) and worked in the fashion industry for many years honing her business skills. She has two beautiful little boys, a fabulous husband and hoards of wonderful friends and a loving family.
